How to make baked brie/camembert
Baked brie with pecan nuts
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C (360 F)
- Remove the packaging from the cheese and place it in a baking dish lined with crumbled parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, you can roast the pecan nuts, if desired. For that, heat a dry skillet on medium, add raw nuts in a single layer, stir frequently to prevent burning, watch for color changes, remove from heat when fragrant and slightly darker, and transfer to a plate to cool completely.
- After 15 minutes, check the cheese by gently pushing on the center of the brie, it should be very soft. When it reaches this state, remove it from the oven and serve immediately.
- Enjoy a perfect low-carb appetizer!

Baked Camembert with garlic and thyme
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C (360 F)
- Remove the packaging from the cheese and place it in a baking dish lined with crumbled parchment paper.
- Make the shallow cuts, creating a criss-cross pattern in the cheese.
- Put garlic slices in between them, top with thyme, and drizzle some olive oil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes. After 15 minutes, check the cheese by gently pushing on the surface, it should be very soft. When it reaches this state, remove it from the oven and serve immediately!
- Enjoy those gooey cheese pulls and flavourful garlic aromas!

Baked brie/camembert with caramelized onion and bacon bits:
- Peel and thinly slice the onions. Cut the bacon strips into small bits.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon bits until they become crispy (5-7 minutes). Once done, remove the bacon bits and set them aside.
- In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the sliced onions.
- Cook the onions over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. The key to caramelizing onions is to cook them low and slow to allow the natural sugars to develop. This process can take 20-30 minutes.
- Once the onions have turned golden brown and are soft and sweet, add the crispy bacon bits back to the skillet. Stir to combine and put on top of the brie.
Feel free to adjust the quantity of onions and bacon based on your preferences and the amount of baked brie you’re preparing.
Tips for the best results
- Gently transfer baked cheese from the baking dish to a serving dish using baking paper to prevent any spills.
- You’ll know that brie/camembert is ready when it puffs up and becomes irresistibly soft to the touch.
- Remember, these cheeses lose their gooey consistency quickly, so serve hot straight from the oven to enjoy the delightful, melty texture. Feel free to make the toppings ahead of time for a stress-free serving experience.
- Brie and Camembert are extremely good on their own. However, if you want to bring it to the next level, consider adding some toppings I mentioned in the post.
Keto topping variations
These are some delicious toppings to put on top of the brie:
- Raspberry jam
- Sugar-free cranberry sauce
- Apricot jam
- Candied nuts
